inter praecipuos Alexandri M. familiares fuit, eidemque carissimus, tum quod filius esser nutricis ipsius, tum quod ab illo in vitae discrimine fuisset servatus, recisô Rosacis lacertô, quem iam ad ictum Alexandro infligendum, in proelio ad Granicum, sustulerat Barbarus. Hunc tamen in convivio quodam liberius in Persicos mores invectum, Rex iam temulentus spiculô traiecit; cuius facti eum postridie tanta soepit paenitentia, diseussâ iam ebrietate, ut totum triduum cibô abstinuerit, decreveritque omnino inediâ sibi necem consciscere, ac amicum optime de se meritum ad inferos persequi.
